Individual Counselling - Adults

Individual counselling can take different forms depending on the problems and style of the person seeking help. We do not restrict ourselves to one approach, but rather carefully assess our clients' difficulties and offer the therapeutic approach which will be most effective in helping them reach their goals.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, or CBT, involves identifying thinking styles and behaviours that contribute to emotional difficulties and working towards change in those areas. It is a very effective approach for many psychological problems.

Interpersonal Process Therapy

Interpersonal process therapy is one of the most effective therapies for Depression and other common psychological problems. It focuses on enhancing confidence by improving interpersonal relationships.

Clinical Hypnosis

Clinical hypnosis can be used as an adjunct in the treatment of a range of difficulties, such as anxiety, phobias, pain management and stress management.

EMDR

Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) is an approach developed to assist people in adjusting to traumatic experiences. It is useful in treating a range of problems, including PTSD, agoraphobia, panic disorder, addictions, and chronic pain. EMDR reduces the intensity of emotional reactions to traumatic memories and is useful in adjusting to traumatic or emotionally difficult experiences.

Triple P: Positive Parenting Program

Triple P is a program aimed at helping people be better parents and encouraging children's social and emotional development. It is suitable for targeted problems (e.g., mealtime difficulties) and for more general child behaviour difficulties. Solution Focused Therapy

A short term approach, aimed at looking forward, identifying obstacles to change and strategies to assist in specific areas of life. It is especially effective for people with specific problems they would like to address in a supportive, unbiased environment.

Executive Coaching

Executive coaching is an outcome-focused process aimed at enhancing a client's performance, productivity and well-being in the workplace. The process is based on sound theoretical frameworks, is goal-driven and is individualized for each client.

Executive coaching has had success in improving the following: Leadership effectiveness, Work relationships, Managing team dynamics, Conflict resolution, Assertiveness, and Strategic Thinking.

Workplace Counselling

Workplace counselling assists those clients needing support and strategies to manage difficult situations at work. Together with the client, the psychologist develops a list of goals and designs a program to assist in solving or reducing the negative effects of the problem(s).

Career Planning

Planning a career in today's fast changing work environment involves constant assessment. Career planning can assist clients to become actively involved in mapping out the steps they need to take to keep pace with organizational change, meet career goals or find a more satisfying role.
