Body Image & Eating Disorders Awareness Week (BIEDAW) is a national awareness week that is held annually during the first full week of September.

This year the event will take place from the 2nd-8th of September 2024 to raise awareness about eating disorders and concerns around body image.  This week urges everyone to think further about this issue and start conversations about eating disorders and their impact.

"The prevalence of eating disorders has increased in the last decade.  Eating disorders affect 4.45 per cent of the Australian population - over 1.1 million people in 2023.  Lifetime prevalence for easting disorders is 10.5 per cent of the Australian population."
